SeeMeThese Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the SeeMe+ mobile application and website at plus.seeme-app.org (the “Service”). By creating an account or using SeeMe+, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
SeeMe+ lets users create or join private groups (“circles”) to share location, communicate, and stay connected with trusted people. The Service depends on device permissions (especially location) and a working internet connection.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your country. If you are under the age of majority, you may use SeeMe+ only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Parents are responsible for supervising minors in a circle.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate account information.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account, including whom you invite into circles.
- Notify us promptly at privacy@seeme-app.org if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Circles, invites, and location sharing
- Location sharing is intended only for people you trust. Invite codes must be shared carefully.
- By enabling location (including background location), you authorize sharing your position with members of your active circles according to the app’s design.
- Joining a circle as a member may be free while the admin’s subscription remains valid; creating a circle typically requires a paid plan as described in the app.
- You must not use SeeMe+ to stalk, harass, or track anyone without their informed consent.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Paid plans (e.g. quarterly, semester, annual) may be offered in the app. Prices and features are shown before purchase. Payments may be processed by third-party providers (such as Maketou). Their terms also apply to the payment transaction.
Unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout, fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started. We may change pricing with notice for future periods.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate any law or third-party rights
- Abuse, harass, threaten, or impersonate others
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data without authorization
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service
- Upload malware or scrape the Service systematically
- Use the Service for commercial surveillance or unlawful tracking
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Content
You retain rights to content you submit (messages, profile info). You grant us a limited license to host, store, and display that content solely to operate the Service. You must not post illegal or harmful content.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data, including location. By using SeeMe+, you also acknowledge that policy.
9. Intellectual property
SeeMe+, its branding, design, and software are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service - only a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it as allowed.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Location data may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable due to GPS, network, or device settings. SeeMe+ is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for contacting local emergency responders.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim (or zero if you paid nothing).
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law - to the extent permitted in your jurisdiction.
13. Termination
You may stop using SeeMe+ at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by nature should survive (e.g. liability limits, IP) will survive termination.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms and post them at https://plus.seeme-app.org/terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of establishment for SeeMe+, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue, except where consumer protection laws give you mandatory rights elsewhere.
