SeeMeThis Privacy Policy explains how SeeMe+ (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the SeeMe+ mobile application and related services (the “Service”) at plus.seeme-app.org.
By creating an account or using SeeMe+, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
SeeMe+ is a family location-sharing application that lets members of a private group (“circle”) share their real-time location, communicate, and stay connected.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide

2.2 Location information (core feature)
With your permission, we collect:
- Precise location (GPS / network-based)
- Location while the app is in use and, if you allow it, in the background
- Location history for recent movement within your circle
- Related status such as battery level and online / last seen when available
Background location is used only to keep sharing your position with members of your circle when the app is not open. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
2.3 Device and technical information
- Push notification tokens
- Device type, OS version, and basic diagnostics
- Approximate connection metadata (e.g. activity timestamps)
2.4 Payment and subscription
If you subscribe: plan type, billing cycle, subscription status, and payment history. Payments may be processed by third-party providers (currently Maketou). We do not store your full card or mobile-money secrets on our servers.
2.5 We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal data to data brokers or advertisers.
3. How we use your information
- Provide the Service - accounts, circles, location sharing, maps, history, messages, notifications
- Authenticate and secure your account
- Process subscriptions and keep payment records
- Send transactional notifications
- Improve reliability and safety; prevent abuse
- Comply with law when required
Legal bases may include contract, consent (location / notifications), legitimate interests, and legal obligation.
4. How location is shared
Your location is shared only with members of the circles you join or create. People outside your circles cannot access your location through SeeMe+. You are responsible for inviting only people you trust.

6. Permissions
SeeMe+ may request:
- Location (precise / approximate)
- Background location
- Notifications
- Network access
- Foreground service (Android) for reliable location updates
7. Data retention

8. Your rights
Depending on your country, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data

- Withdraw consent via device settings
- Object to certain processing

9. Children’s privacy
SeeMe+ is intended for families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) without verifiable parental consent. Parents/guardians should supervise how minors use location sharing.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS / TLS), access controls, and authentication via a reputable provider. No method is 100% secure - use a strong password and keep invite codes private.
11. International transfers
Your data may be processed on servers outside your country (e.g. where Supabase, Google, or our payment provider operate). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards.
12. Third-party services
Maps, payment pages, and external links are governed by their own privacy policies.
13. Changes
We may update this policy and post the new version at https://plus.seeme-app.org/privacy. Material changes may be announced in the app or by email.
